The Imole Youth Campaign Team (IYCT), powered by the Osun State Ministry of Youth Affairs, on Monday held its inaugural strategic meeting where critical structures and grassroots youth engagement plans were unveiled ahead of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second term campaign activities across Osun State.
The strategic meeting, hosted by the Commissioner for Youth Affairs and Advisor to the Imole Youth Campaign Team, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, brought together key youth leaders serving as Senatorial and Federal Constituency Coordinators across Osun State.
At the meeting, stakeholders unanimously resolved to intensify youth engagement, voter sensitization, community outreach, and grassroots political awareness, door to door Campaign across wards, local governments, federal constituencies, and senatorial districts in support of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan described the Imole Youth Campaign Team as a youth-driven movement established to deepen political participation among young people, strengthen grassroots structures, and promote the achievements and developmental programmes of the Adeleke administration.
According to him, “The 2026 election in Osun will not be won only on podiums or billboards; it will be decided in communities, campuses, streets, polling units, and among politically conscious young people who can already see the difference Governor Adeleke has made in their lives.”
He added that, “Osun youths are no longer spectators in politics. We are building a generation that will defend good governance, mobilize intelligently, and take ownership of the political future of this state.”
The Commissioner further stressed the importance of youth inclusion in governance, coordinated media engagement, digital political communication, and sustained interaction with young people and grassroots stakeholders across the state.
In their separate remarks, the Osun West Senatorial Coordinator, Afolabi Lukman Abeere Soose; Osun East Senatorial Coordinator, Diti Aluko; and Osun Central Senatorial Coordinator, Abiodun Fatoki Oloba, emphasized the need for unity, political consciousness, loyalty, and aggressive grassroots awareness and political sensitization among youths toward securing victory for Governor Adeleke in the forthcoming governorship election.
Afolabi Lukman Abeere Soose stated that, “The political energy currently rising among Osun youths cannot be ignored. Young people are organizing, mobilizing, and preparing to defend a government they believe is working for the people.”
He further declared that, “Grassroots mobilization is not social media noise. It is direct engagement with communities, students, artisans, and first-time voters who will determine the political direction of Osun State.”
The meeting also featured extensive deliberations on strengthening local government, ward, and polling unit structures; youth participation in governance; student engagement; media visibility; digital awareness; community outreach; and expansion of grassroots political activities across Osun State.
The IYCT Coordinators further proposed strategic engagement with students, artisans, market groups, women associations, youth organizations, community influencers, first-time voters, and political stakeholders to consolidate support for the Adeleke administration at the grassroots level.
They further reaffirmed the commitment of the leadership of the movement toward building a formidable youth-powered political structure capable of sustaining the ongoing developmental momentum in Osun State.
Hon. Wale Akerele, Member of the Osun State House of Assembly, alongside other stakeholders present at the meeting, commended the initiative and called for sustained commitment, sacrifice, active participation, and issue-based engagement from youths across the state.
The meeting concluded with renewed determination by members of the Imole Youth Campaign Team to immediately commence statewide youth sensitization, grassroots political engagement, strategic stakeholder consultations, and coordinated meaningful Youth programmes ahead of subsequent campaign activities.
