PAD UP A GIRL CHILD: ENCOMIUMS AS MAF TAKES MENSTRUAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN TO STUDENTS

The Mojibola Adeleke Foundation has extended its community outreach to female students of Abolarin College through a menstrual hygiene initiative tagged Pad Up a Girl Child.

The programme, held on February 12, 2026, focused on the distribution of sanitary pads and sensitization on menstrual health, aimed at supporting young girls to manage their hygiene with dignity and confidence.

The foundation team was received by the founder of the college, Oba Omoniyi Abolarin, whose presence and endorsement highlighted the importance of the intervention and community support for girl-child development.

During the visit, the team engaged the students in an interactive session, educating them on menstrual hygiene and encouraging open conversations to address stigma and misconceptions associated with puberty.

Sanitary pads were subsequently distributed to the students, a gesture that was met with appreciation, as beneficiaries expressed relief over improved access to essential hygiene materials.

Speaking on the impact of the initiative, representatives of the foundation noted that the intervention would help reduce absenteeism among female students while promoting self-confidence and health awareness.

The programme also strengthened collaboration between the foundation and the institution, with indications of future support initiatives, including educational engagements and sustained health interventions.

The outreach is part of the foundation’s broader commitment to community development, with a focus on empowering young women through targeted health and education support.
