● Resident Associations Reject Greek Gift
● Opinion Surveys reports low acceptance
● Call Centres Record Curses and Abuse
There are reports across Osogbo and other major cities in Osun state that Residents Associations are rebuffing the charm offensive of the Osun APC designed to win residents to its side.
Osun APC had from January opened a call centre to woo Osun voters.
The party also embarked on a door to door campaign and street to street advocacy.
The party has also been conducting monthly opinion surveys to gauge the outcome of its activities.
Insiders reported that the call centre recorded over 70 % failure rates as calls ended in either abuse or rain of curses from the sampled residents.
The door to door activity was an even more spectacular failure as residents around Osogbo and other towns were reported to have mocked the APC for bringing N10,000 to buy their rights to enjoy good governance.
In many areas, residents were reported to have asked the APC to come back after the incumbent must have completed his eight years in office.
In one densely populated area of Osogbo, the resident association was quoted as reminding the APC that the road on which the meeting was being held was reconstructed by Governor Adeleke.
Meanwhile, the monthly opinion survey commissioned by the Osun APC is reportedly not favourable so far since the January commencement.
The APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji had reportedly appointed a firm to conduct the survey from January till July ending.
The goal is to get scientific status of his popularity as a prelude to the August 15th election.
“The outcome has not been good. The figures have been hovering between 20 to 27 percent from January to April ending”, a top insider confided in our correspondent.
Efforts to get the APC campaign office to respond proved abortive.
